A stuffed shirt指“妄自尊大之人，爱摆架子，表现得神奇十足的人”。比如：My boss is a stuffed shirt.我老板是个爱摆架子的人。
Our boss is a stuffed shirt, we all don't like him. 我们的老板是个爱摆架子的人，我们都不喜欢他。
当我们表示“有耐心、保持冷静、不发脾气”时可以用keep one’s shirt on。比如：
Keep your shirt on! It was only a joke. 别生气！开个玩笑而已。
短语wear the pants in the family不是在家穿着裤子，而是指“在家里当家作主”。比如：She has the best-paid job and she also wears the pants in the family.她有一份待遇优厚的工作同时在家里掌权当家。

我们常用immediately、at once、without hesitation来表示“立刻，毫不犹豫”，但at the drop of a hat也是不错的选择。比如：

当我们表示“自大，目中无人”时，可以用arrogant或者cocky，我们也可以用too big for one’s boots。比如：He's become too big for his boots since he got promoted.自从他升职后，他变得自大起来，目中无人。
